WHY ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS?

Living in the the Almaguin Highlands is a very affordable alternative to Muskoka.  When building there are no District levies that are in addition to building permit fees. Purchase costs are much lower than Muskoka and only a minimum of 20 minute drive north of Huntsville.  The Almaguin Highlands, also part of the Parry Sound District starts at Boundary Road at Novar. South of Boundary Road is Muskoka, North side is Parry Sound (Almaguin Area). Recreation abounds in seaonsal activities like boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, and yes, even hunting. Populations range from private settings along quiet (as well as some being busy) waterfronts to fun filled towns with all of the amenities of life. The Almaguin Highlands offers many access points to Algonquin Park and the town of Kearney alone has 108,000 acres of crown land NOT including the adjoining Algonquin Park.  There are many lakes to chose from plus many rural lots to make your privacy abundant, yet for those wanting town living we also have several small towns to chose from.  We are finding people moving from the higher priced Muskoka area with it's much higher prices to those more affordable for a little bit more of a drive, and, finding for the most part, more crown land and more privacy. I welcome you to come and experience the qieter pace of Almaguin Highlands.
